HTP Season Opener 2018
HTP kicked off the season with a successful weekend at Maryland International Raceway. The highly-anticipated turbo-charged 2018 GSXR1000 was revealed at the first event of the XDA Racing Series. The new build had only been fired up days before, and with less than eight passes down the racetrack, the team was able to achieve a 7.00s pass at 204mph. The team ultimately qualified in the 7th position and advanced to the semi-final round in eliminations. HTP Crew Chief, Cecil Towner, says they exceeded expectations for their first weekend out. “The goal was to strategically push the bike more and more with each round. We got great data over the weekend and know there’s improvements that can be made to make it to the winners’ circle.” The new Pro Street GSXR1000 will compete again May 18-20 at the next XDA event in Atco, NJ.
The HTP Team would like to thank its sponsors for their involvement in making this new build possible and their continued support of their race program.
